In Ephesians 6:10-20, Paul encourages the Ephesians to put on the “full armor of God” so that we can “take our stand against the devil’s schemes.”
This section of Scripture is a great reminder that we do have enemies…but they’re not other human beings.
And thankfully, Satan and God are not equals. God is above all, even though the evil in this world sometimes feels suffocating.
“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.”
2 Peter 5:8-11
Come what may, we always remind ourselves of the good news: JESUS. The one who overcame sin, the grave, and evil.
“And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”
Colossians 2:15
The Gospel. The truth of John 3:16: For God so loved us.
He loved us first. He loved us while we were still sinners. Take heart, believer. We have the best news!
