I’m Rhonnie, and this is my heart’s overflow.

I live in South Carolina with my husband and our two dogs, Callie and April.

Writing is one of my great loves. I also love poetry, good books, dogs, nature, travel, languages, culture. I am inspired by Lost, Eisley, C.S. Lewis, Phil Wickham, Charles Spurgeon, E.E. Cummings, Francis Chan, Ann Voskamp, Donald Miller, and so many others. But most of all I love God, my Heavenly Father. This world is getting more chaotic every day, but Jesus has overcome the world. He’s Everything and His Word is a true compass for our lives.

My life is a work-in-progress, covered in grace. This blog has become the place for me to marvel at God’s overwhelming beauty, delight in His promises, and ponder all the insights He lays on my heart.  Sometimes I get so lost in my thoughts I drive myself crazy, but everything always leads me to how awesome He is — His grace, His truth, His power, and His love.

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
-1 Peter 3:15

existing’s tricky: but to live’s a gift. -e.e. cummings

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong–that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
Romans 1:11-12

Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them.
Psalm 111:2

“If I discover within myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”
-C.S. Lewis

Beautiful
Don Miller’s description of what it means to be an introvert-
Go deep or go home. Mostly, introverts live in their minds and they think about why things happen or they daydream or whatever. Shallow conversations about the weather, at least for me, are painful. I just don’t want to have them. It’s not that I want to talk about politics or theology, I don’t, but I don’t want to have conversations that aren’t going somewhere. I want to talk about your passions, your fears, your musings about why you think life is the way it is. The cool thing is, once I know we can go there, I can talk to that person about anything shallow, including the weather. I just have to know we can go to the deep end when we feel like it.
